I went to donate blood today and they turned me away because it has been only 10 weeks since my last donation. Apparently, they've increased the 10 week rule to 12 weeks with regards to donations, particularly from women, because it takes that long for the body to replenish the lost iron and people were becoming anaemic from donating too frequently.
The funny thing is, they called me to come and donate in the first place...

According to the Red Cross Blood Service, Australia needs 20,000 blood donations per week just to ensure that there are adequate supplies for those who need it. I'd reckon a maximum of 80% of the population are eligible to donate at any one time, and only 4-5% of these people do donate on a regular basis. When they're only making you donate once every 3 months, I find it hard to imagine that they are meeting their 9,400,000 ml weekly quota.
I spoke to a chamber magistrate yesterday and am considering taking the police to court. Some coppers out there are just perversely corrupt, and there is no way I'm letting them get away with it.
